ABOUT

Master Boot Maker and Engraver, Kolton ‘Ross’ Roberts opened his custom boot and saddle shop in 1984 in Olney, Texas under the name Kolton Saddlery & Boot Company.  He was mentored by Joe McNelly in his early years of business.  Joe McNelly's boots were identical to the boots his uncle made in the 1940's and 1950's in Eden, Texas. Joe went to work in Willy Lusk's boot shop in Lubbock, Texas, and Joe set the standard for that shop with his own designs. Ross, to this day, appreciates Joe's lasting influence in his work.

In 1988 Ross purchased the remnants of the defunct Dixon Boot Company. He carried on the spirit of Dixon Boot Company with Noble Dixon's support.

Ross rose to a high level of recognition early in his career, making boots for Hollywood and Nashville, in addition to his local clientele.  His rise in Nashville coincided with the explosion of the "Class of '89".  Ross has made boots for Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Cher, Dolly Parton, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakum, Roy Rogers, Benny Binion and countless other celebrities, businessmen, oilmen and world dignitaries for nearly 40 years.

Ross is Texas through and through!  While he is originally from West Texas, he now happily calls Weatherford, Texas his home.  He has lived the legendary culture of Texas through oil and gas, ranching, and boot making and is passionate about creating the finest handmade products in the country.

Ross maintains the integrity of the hand-crafted boot making process using century old techniques forgotten by most. Texas Cowboy Boot Company boots are 100% made in our shop in Weatherford, Texas with the finest hand-chosen materials. The quality of his work has kept his clientele coming back for their next pair of boots again and again.
